About Tim - Your Guide
My name is Tim Anderson. I grew up on a small lake near Brainerd, and am a life-long resident of the area. Ever since I was a small child, I have been obsessed with fishing. I seem to have a passion and desire for fishing that very rarely gets satisfied. In my younger years, I frequently fished for panfish, pike, bass, and walleye. To me, reading material meant In-Fisherman, Fishing-Facts, and Fur, Fish and Game Magazines. The best TV shows were Roland Martin, Jimmy Houston, and Virgil Wards Championship Fishing. Remember them? One thing’s for sure, it seemed I could never get enough information about fishing… I absorbed it like a sponge.
I had my own boat and motor before I was 10 years old. Going fishing on the lake we lived on was a daily ritual. Exploration was a big part of my fishing success, and after I got my drivers license, I literally took county platbooks and went from lake to lake, seeing what kind of fish were in what lakes. Years of doing that has made me very familiar with central and northern Minnesota. As the years went by, I became more and more intrigued with big fish….finding them, and learning how to catch them. That is when my fascination with Muskies began, and my obsession with fishing became more of an addiction.
Most people think I’m a little crazy, but my idea of a fun vacation is to go fishing with my hard-core musky fishing buddies, and spend about 16-20 hours a day on the water trying to figure out where these monsters are and how to get them to bite. We fish day and night, and often do this for several days on end. This has taught me a lot about muskies and how they behave.
Crazy? Maybe, but this should give you a glimpse into my character, and what you will have working for you if you hire me as your guide. There is nothing like time on the water for experience. Simply put, I don’t give up, and will do everything I can to help you catch the fish of your dreams. I find great satisfaction in this, and don’t know how else to explain it but to tell you that I thrive on it. And if you’re the type of person who is more “laid back,” likes to relax and just basically catch fish, I’m plenty ready to do that too. My primary objective is to make sure that you’ve had a great day on the water, no matter what your goals are.
I would describe myself as grateful and incredibly blessed to have the health and the ability to be able to fish as much as I do. Blessed too, to have grown up in an area with lakes literally everywhere, and to have the opportunity to do what I do: make a living doing something I love, meeting new people, developing friendships, and helping people to be successful fishing. I love the challenge of “hunting” for big fish. For me, it’s a way of life. I’m looking forward to a great adventure on the water with you.
